WHAT TO DO IF MY OFFICIAL HUNGARIAN DOCUMENT IS LOST OR STOLEN?

To reduce the risk of anyone else using your passport or your identity, you must cancel a lost or stolen document as soon as possible. You can report a lost or stolen document at the consular representation in whose consular district you reside - in case of Scotland, it is the Consulate General in Edinburgh. To book an appointment, please click here.

If you have a Hungarian Governmental Client Gate (Ügyfélkapu) registration, you can also cancel a lost or stolen passport/IDcard electronically via this link.

In case of a stolen document, always attach a police report as well.
