If the life event is already registered in Hungary, you can ask for a copy of a Hungarian birth / marriage / death certificate at the Consulate.
For this, an appointment is required and can be scheduled online. Please bring you valid passport/ID card for the application. In case of a non-own document it is necessary to present the document on which the application is based (e.g., certificate of relationship, a record of pending dispute, etc.).
The service is free of charge. The certificate issued is trilingual (Hungarian, English and French).

You can also submit your application by post by submitting the following documents:
- Copy of the valid passport/ ID of the applicant
- Completed and signed application form - please fill in and sign the form with a blue ink pen, in block capitals
- In case of a non-own document it is necessary to present the copy of document on which the application is based (e.g. certificate of relationship, a record of pending dispute, etc.)
- If the applicant has: copy of Hungarian address card
If your Hungarian address card states a Hungarian address, please provide your Scottish address in the application form.
