The 2nd Conference of the Scottish-Hungarian Scholars Society took place in Győr on 9-10 May 2025.

At the event hosted by Széchenyi István University, Dr. Eszter Lukácsi, the International Vice-President of Széchenyi University, gave an opening speech on behalf of Széchenyi University. László Bódis, the deputy state secretary of the State Secretariat for Innovation of the Ministry of Science and Technology, gave a presentation. It shed light on the National, Regional, European and Global contexts from both a science diplomacy and professional aspect. In addition to the Scottish and Hungarian professors, both co-presidents of the Society, Prof. Sir Iain Torrance and Prof. Dr. Richárd Hörcsik also gave welcoming remarks and gave presentations.

The keynote speaker of the conference this time was Prof. Dr. Bonnie Steves, an astronomical researcher at the University of Glasgow. The topic of her presentation summarized the aspects of astronomy and celestial bodies.

The Friday professional day program concluded with a gala dinner held at the Apátúr restaurant, thanks to Széchenyi University, at which the Scottish-Hungarian Scholars Society was expanded with new members.
